Roles: Owner, Manager and Staff
What each role can do in EtiquetaChef — administration in the web panel and counter work in the Android app.

In EtiquetaChef every person on your team has a role, and the role defines what they can do. There are three: Owner, Manager and Staff. This guide explains what each one can access, so you can build your team with the right permission for each job.
The three roles at a glance
- Owner — manages everything: the team, the plan and the subscription, the establishment settings and the product catalog.
- Manager — runs the day-to-day operation: catalog (products and templates), labels, stock and printers. Does not touch the plan or the establishment settings.
- Staff — works only in the Android app, at the counter: creates, prints and clears labels. Does not access the web panel.
Owner
The Owner has full access. On top of everything the Manager does, only the Owner can:
- Manage the team — invite and create users (Owners, Managers and Staff) and set each person’s role.
- Handle the plan and the subscription — choose the plan, follow the billing and manage the establishment’s subscription.
- Adjust the establishment settings — the data and preferences of your organization.
Manager
The Manager runs the operation, but not the account and billing side. They can:
- Maintain the catalog — register and edit products and label templates, with their validity rules.
- Handle the labels — create, print and clear them (printing and clearing by camera are in the Android app).
- Control the stock and set up the printers.
What the Manager cannot do:
- Does not touch the plan or the subscription.
- Does not change the establishment settings.
Staff
Staff are the counter team. They work only in the Android app and focus on the essentials of the day-to-day:
- Create labels for the products.
- Print labels on the connected printer.
- Clear labels when the product is used or discarded.
Staff do not access the web panel — all the administration stays with the Owner and the Manager.
How Staff sign in: quick-access PIN
Staff don’t use email and password. Instead, they sign in to the Android app with a 6-digit quick-access PIN, designed for the counter and for shifts that take turns on the same device.

The Owner or the Manager registers the Staff member
In the Android app, under Staff, you create the person with a username and an initial 6-digit PIN.

The Staff member signs in with the PIN
On the establishment’s tablet, they tap their own profile and enter the PIN. No email, no password, no waiting.

Switching between people is fast
Each Staff member has their own PIN, so handing over the shift on the same device is simple and quick.
