What the web panel is (and what it isn't)
Understand what the web panel on your computer is for, and why printing and scanning labels only happens in the Android app.

EtiquetaChef has two environments that complement each other: the web panel (in your computer’s browser) and the Android app (on a phone or tablet). Each one has its own role. This article explains what you do in the web panel — and what it does not do.
Web panel = administration and monitoring
The web panel is your management area. That’s where the Owner and the Manager handle the running of the establishment — and also keep track of and monitor day-to-day operations:
- Register products and set the validity rules for each one.
- Create and organize label templates.
- Organize your team — add people and set each person’s role.
- Keep track of the subscription — plan and payments.
- Keep track of label production and printing done by the team.
- Keep track of product stock.
- Monitor KPIs and statistics for the operation.
- Get alerts — validity warnings, low stock, and the like.
In short: the web panel is where you administer and monitor the establishment.
What the web panel does NOT do
The web panel is for planning and administration. Day-to-day operation — creating the label, printing, and clearing it — stays on the phone or tablet, near where the team works.
Android app = floor operation
The Android app is where the team gets hands-on, at the counter and in the kitchen:
- Create and print product labels.
- Clear a label by reading its code with the camera.
- Connect and use the printer.
Who uses what
-
Owner and Manager — web panel and Android
They administer through the web panel (products, team, subscription, stock) and can also work in the Android app when they need to print or clear labels.
-
Staff — Android only
They work exclusively in the Android app, creating and printing labels every day. Staff quick access in the app is by PIN.
