Welcome to EtiquetaChef

An overview of EtiquetaChef and the first steps after creating your account.

Updated on

EtiquetaChef helps bars, restaurants and hotels keep perishable products within their shelf life: you print labels with the expiry date calculated automatically for each product. This guide shows you how to go from zero to printing your first label.

What your account already has

As soon as you create your account and confirm payment, you have:

Each product you add gets its own validity rules — you create at least one for every product. The available states are Primary, Opened, Prepared, Thawed and Cooked.

Computer and phone: each has its role

EtiquetaChef works in the browser (computer) and in the Android app (phone or tablet). They complement each other:

Your first steps

  1. Add your products

Start with the items you use most. Every product has at least one validity rule — that rule defines the deadline printed on the label. See Products and validity.

  2. Connect a printer (on Android)

In the Android app, open Printers and follow the pairing steps. See Printing.

  3. Print your first label (on Android)

Pick the product, the state (opened, prepared, etc.) and EtiquetaChef calculates the validity and sends it to the printer.
