Print your first label
Step-by-step flow to print a validity label for the first time.
Updated on
With at least one product registered and a printer set up, your first label comes out in seconds.
Steps
- On the home screen, tap New label.
- Select the product. Use search if the list is long.
- Pick a validity state:
- Primary — sealed package in the fridge/freezer.
- Opened — after opening.
- Manipulated — after portioning/preparing.
- Thawed — after taking out of the freezer.
- Cooked — after cooking.
- Check the calculated expiration date — EtiquetaChef uses the rules configured for that product and state.
- (Optional) adjust the label quantity.
- Tap Print.
The label is registered as active (it can be discarded later) and shows up under “Active labels”.
If the label doesn’t print
- Bluetooth disconnected: the app reconnects automatically, but it can take 2-3 seconds. Wait and try again.
- Out of paper: many thermals flash a red LED. Reload the roll.
- Print error: see “Troubleshooting → Print failures”.
