Calibrate printing
Recalibrate the printer after changing the roll and adjust label sharpness and alignment.
Updated on
Thermal printing depends on the label roll. Whenever you change the roll or the printer loses calibration, it’s worth recalibrating so labels come out at the right size, sharp, and aligned.
Recalibrate with the assistant
The simplest path is to run the Assistant again — it reprints and adjusts on its own based on your answers:
-
Open Printers → Assistant
On the saved printer, tap Assistant.
-
Confirm the label size
If you switched to a roll of a different size, enter the new measurements. If it’s the same size, keep them.
-
Answer the visual questions
The app reprints the frame and asks whether it matched the label size (just right / smaller / larger) and whether it came out sharp (yes / faint / smudged). It corrects and reprints until it looks good.
-
Finish
Tap Done once the label comes out correct.
Advanced settings (optional)
If you already know the printer and want to fine-tune by hand, tap Advanced on the saved printer. In Advanced settings, you’ll find:
- Density — darkens (lines smudging, lower it) or lightens (faint lines, raise it) the print.
- Speed — slower usually comes out sharper.
- Protocol, DPI, gap, and margin — only touch these if you know what you’re doing; the assistant normally gets them right on its own.
- Print test — check the result of each adjustment.
