What label templates are
How a template sets the label size and which fields appear when you print.
Updated on
A label template defines the print layout: the label size and which fields appear on it. It is what gives every label the same look, each time you print.
What the template controls
- Size — the width and height of the label in millimeters (for example 51×25 mm), to match the roll loaded in the printer.
- Which fields appear — you choose which information goes on the label: product name, validity, staff member, batch, quantity, storage and others. Turn on what fits your operation; turn off what you don’t need.
The QR and the logo always appear on every label. The QR is what lets you mark a label as used by scanning it in the app, so it is not optional.
The default template
There is always one template marked as default. It is the one used automatically when you create a new label, with no need to choose. You can keep several saved templates — for example a smaller one for tubs and a larger one for boxes — and set which is the default.
Who can create and edit
Owner and Manager create, edit and set the default template. Staff do not change templates — they use the labels day to day.
Creating and editing templates is done in the web panel, which is the administration area. Printing and scanning the QR happen in the Android app, used on the operations floor.
Using it day to day
Start with the default template that comes ready. If it works for you, there’s nothing to change. Only adjust it when you want to change the label size or add/remove a field from the print. See the article on creating and editing templates for the details of each field.
