Quick access with a PIN

How your team signs in on the Android app by picking a profile from the list and entering a PIN, without typing email and password every shift.

Updated on

On a shared tablet or phone at the counter, nobody has to type email and password every shift. Quick access with a PIN turns the device into a sign-in screen with the team’s profiles: each person taps their own avatar and confirms with a 6-digit PIN.

PIN only

Identity is confirmed by PIN only. Face recognition was removed from the app: it didn’t work well in practice (it failed on some devices and sometimes mixed people up). The 6-digit PIN is simple, fast and works on any phone or tablet.

How to sign in

  1. Open the app on the shared device

When there are profiles set up on that device, the app opens straight to the list of people instead of the email and password screen.

  2. Tap your avatar

Each card shows the photo (or initials), the person’s name and their role. Tap yours to start.

  3. Enter your 6-digit PIN

A number pad appears on screen. Once you confirm the 6 digits, you’re in and can create and print labels right away.

How each profile shows up in the list

People who have already set up quick access on this device appear with their role (Owner, Manager or Staff) and the date of their last sign-in. People who haven’t set it up yet show a note that quick access isn’t ready on that device — when they tap, they do their first sign-in by setting a PIN.
