How to close my organization
Steps to close your EtiquetaChef organization and what happens to billing, data and refunds.

Closing an organization cancels the subscription, stops billing, and starts the data retention countdown. The process is permanent after the recovery window ends.
How to request today
Closure is currently handled by support:
- Send an email to help@etiquetachef.com from the OWNER’s email address, asking to close the organization.
- Include the organization name and, if you have it, the ID shown in Account → Organization.
- We reply within 1 business day confirming the closure.
- Once confirmed, the organization is closed and you receive a notice
email (
tenant_deleted).
How it will work in the client app (coming soon)
Once self-service closure ships:
- In Settings → Account → Close organization, tap Request closure.
- You receive a confirmation email valid for 24 hours.
- Confirming the link closes the organization immediately.
The email confirmation prevents accidental closures and protects against unauthorized access to your account.
What happens at closure
- Subscription cancelled. No further charges from this point on.
- MBG (Money-Back Guarantee) refund, if eligible. Closures inside
the MBG window get a full automatic refund:
- Monthly plan: within 7 days of the first charge.
- Annual plan: within 14 days of the first charge. The refund posts to the original invoice/card in 5 to 10 business days.
- Logged out everywhere. Members are signed out and the organization disappears from their list.
- Data kept for 90 days. Within this window the organization can be restored via support. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted, per our Privacy Policy.
Can I keep using the app?
Yes. Your personal login stays the same and EtiquetaChef supports participating in multiple organizations. You can create a new one or accept invitations to others without re-registering.
I just want to pause, not close
We don’t offer subscription pauses today. Alternatives:
- Temporary downgrade (when available) — pay less while usage is low.
- Close and recreate later — you can open a new organization any time; previous history isn’t carried over, but your login stays the same.
