Discard a label by scan
How to scan a label barcode to move it from active to history.

Every printed label carries a barcode (Code 128 by default) that uniquely identifies that label in your organization. Discarding a label moves it from active to history, recording the reason.
Scanning the barcode to discard is done in the Android app, using the Scan button that’s always available on the screen. On the web panel you discard a label from its menu instead.
How to discard in the Android app
- Tap the Scan button.
- Point the camera at the label barcode — the app recognizes it automatically.
- Pick a discard reason:
- Consumed — normal use of the product.
- Discarded — product unfit or thrown away.
- (Optional) add a note.
- Tap Confirm.
The Expired status is automatic: as soon as a label passes its validity, it moves to history on its own, with no action from you.
How to discard in the web panel
The web panel has no barcode scanning. Open the label’s menu (or its details dialog) and choose Consumed or Discarded.
Why discarding matters
- It feeds the consumption history — the basis for future analytics.
- Keeps the active screen clean, focused on what’s still in use.
- It’s the input for abnormal consumption alerts.
The barcode is unique across the whole organization — any phone or tablet running the Android app can discard any label.
