Add a product
How to add products to the catalog and configure the info that goes on the label.
Updated on
The product catalog is the source of truth for everything that appears on a label. The richer the catalog, the more useful the label is in operations.
Main fields
- Name — appears prominently on the label.
- Category — operational grouping (meats, dairy, produce, etc.). Helps with search and reports.
- Brand / manufacturer — optional, useful for items where traceability matters.
- Unit — kg, L, ea.
- Photo — optional, helps identify lookalikes.
Validity rules
Each product can override the defaults per state: primary, opened, manipulated, thawed, cooked. Configure only the states that apply to that item — the rest use the category or tenant default.
Quick onboarding
To get going, register the 10-20 most-used items without worrying about photos. Come back to enrich later. The important thing is to have something in the catalog so you can start printing and generating history.
Bulk import
On paid plans, you can import via CSV. See Catalog → Import.
